Publisher's Note From the Sea to the Stars was originally published in parts as Sea Siege and Star Gate. This is the first time both novels have appeared together.
Sea Siege The nuclear war had come at last and the research team on an island in the West Indies thought they had been lucky to survive. Star Gate Long ago, the Star Lords had come from a dying Earth to Gorth, where they helped the inhabitants build a civilization. Now some of the Lords have resumed wandering among the stars, but others have decided to travel through an interdimensional gate to another Gorth in a parallel universe. And when they find that in this universe the Star Lords from Earth conquered and enslaved the people of Gorth, their course is clear. They must battle their counterparts to free Gorth--even if it means their own destruction.

Both books collected here (originally published separately) were well written, although I'd consider them scribed more for a YA audience. The only reason I'm not giving this collection a 5 is because both books seem unfinished, especially the first one. There are too many open-ended questions for the ending to be truly satisfying in the first, and though the second did have a definite conclusion, it too was open enough that a sequel would have been well received. Unfortunately, that is not to be (unless Ms. Norton's estate were to allow another author to continue either of these storylines).Product details

This is a reprint of books she wrote a long time ago. I still have a copy of each as I can't throw away books. If you are younger than 50, Like Andre Norton, You'll find these stories about half way to her best. I liked them. Claudene
At one time I owned almost everything written by Andre Norton. This was one of my favorites and now it is mine again! Yeah!

I was worried that these classics written by Andre Norton would disappear with the age of the kindle upon us. My only problem is that the way these books have been bundled together. It would b nice to have a directory in front of these books so that the reader could go straight to the story they wanted to read. Other that, I greatly enjoyed rereading the books I read during my teenage summers. The only things missing was a hammock and a large glass of ice tea.
I won't spoil the books by giving any details. It's nice to read a science fiction/fantasy that isn't concerned about the details of how but is more concerned with the adventure.
